Greetings! Spring is upon us – finally! – and it is time for some Chapter news.
First, you will find the application and guidelines for the 2014 Quad City CPCU Society Chapter Scholarship on our website. Applications are due May 1st and may be mailed to our chapter’s post office box or emailed to Scholarship Committee Chair Debbie Theil. Additional information is included in the scholarship guidelines document.
Second, I am pleased to report that our chapter was awarded the Silver Level of Circle of Excellence recognition for 2012-2013. Our Chapter will be recognized during the National Leadership Summit in Arizona in April, where Vice President Howard Beck and Immediate Past President Julie Schocker will represent our Chapter. The National Society Circle of Excellence program honors chapters who have achieved exceptional performance and member engagement. Our Chapter has a renewed energy and our plan is in place to achieve even more over the next year.
Next, welcome to New Designees Michael Benjamin, Stephanie Mickael, and John Niewald! We all recognize how much hard work it takes to achieve the designation of CPCU and we extend our sincere congratulations. We will look forward to seeing Michael, Stephanie and John at Chapter events.
As the year moves quickly ahead, the Succession Planning Committee will be looking for new Board members and Officers to step up to serve in leadership roles when the Board transitions take place this November. If you are interested in serving as an officer or a general Board member, please contact me at amy.klutho@kone.com. If we call you requesting your service, I hope you will give thoughtful consideration to joining our Chapter’s awesome leadership team. It’s a win-win for all of us when we have an energetic, thriving Chapter.
Finally, just a reminder that if you have not already paid your 2014 dues you should do so now by signing into the Society’s website www.cpcusociety.org. If you need assistance accessing the system or have questions about dues, you may contact the Society at membercenter@cpcusociety.org.
In the very near future we will have details for you about our first of two Chapter meetings of the year. We will email the information but you can also check out our Chapter website at quadcity.cpcusociety.org for updates. Our Meetings Committee is putting together an informative lunchtime program and I hope you will be able to join us.
Happy Spring!
